We
start our travel section with Chittaurgarh Fort, which we recently visited. It
was a destination that was recommended by Baba’s friend, and really proved
worthy. Its beauty lies in its grandness and its architecture and somewhere a
serenity that is still visible.We had hired a guide to take us around. Along with the historical narration, it was
enjoyable to listen to him about various Bollywood movies that have been
shot here and other such anecdotes. Ma could actually recollect some a few of
these movies too J
too. It was a refreshing and enriching trip, and now we strongly recommend it
as one of the must visit destination of Rajasthan J
Location
and Connectivity: Located in the state Rajasthan in
India. Connected by Flight ( Airport at Udaipur) and Train (Chittorgarh Railway
Station). Well connected by Road Network (National Highways NH76 and NH79) with
travelling time of 1.5 hours from Udaipur and 2 hours from Kota as well as
links with other major Indian cities Mumbai,
Delhi, Ahmedabad, Ajmer and Jaipur.
Chittorgarh
Fort has received the credit of being the largest Fort of India. It lies at a
distance of 112kms from the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan.
This
fort was built by various Maurya rulers in the 7th century.
There
are many palaces within the Fort like Rana Kumbha palace, Padmini palace etc.
which are wonders of
Rajput Architecture. Rana kumbha palace is the palace where Queen Padmini
committed ‘’Jauhar’’ and the other ladies of household.
There
are several ancient temples in the Fort like Kalika Mata temple, Meerabai
temple, Neelkanth Mahadeb Temple.
The main palaces of the fort are the two towers known as the Kirti Stambh and
the Vijay Stambh. However the most imposing structure
is the Vijay stambh. This tower took 10 complete years to construct. In the
evenings Vijay stambh is illuminated and looks mesmerizing. This heritage Fort of Rajasthan is definitely a must visit place that can not be afforded to be missed.
এশিয়ার সর্ববৃহৎ দুর্গের মধ্যে স্থান দখল করে আছে রাজস্থানের চিত্তরগড় দুর্গ।
সপ্তম শতাব্দীতে মৌর্য শাসকদের হাতে তৈরি এই দুর্গ রাজপুত ইতিহাসের সাক্ষ্য বহন করে। ১৮০ মিটার উঁচু পাহাড় ঘেরা এই দুর্গ যেন আমাদের জানান দেয় রাজপুতদের অসীম সাহসিকতায় ভরা জীবন গাঁথা।
রাজস্থানের
উদয়পুর থেকে ১১২ কিমিঃ দূরত্বে অবস্থিত এই চিত্তরগড় দুর্গ। দুর্গের মধ্যে যে সব অট্টালিকা আমরা দেখতে পাই তাতে আছে অতুলনীয় রাজপুত স্থাপত্যের নিদর্শন। এই দুর্গের অন্যতম প্রাসাদ একটি হল রানা কুম্ভ প্রাসাদ। এখানে রানী পদ্মিনী এবং প্রাসাদের অন্যান্য নারীরা আগুনে ঝাঁপ দিয়ে আত্মাহুতি দিয়েছিলেন। যেটাকে “জহর” বলে।
প্রাচীন কালের
অনেক মন্দিরও দুর্গের মধ্যে আছে। তাছাড়া এই দুর্গের মধ্যে কীর্তি স্তম্ভ
এবং বিজয় স্তম্ভ
নামে দুটি টাওয়ার আছে।এর মধ্যে বিজয় স্তম্ভ গড়তে দশ বছর সময় লেগেছে। বিকেলের দিকে আলোক সজ্জায় সজ্জিত এই স্তম্ভগুলো যেন আমাদের সম্মোহিত করে।
সব মিলিয়ে বলা
যায় ইতিহাসের জীবন্ত পটভূমিতে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা এই দুর্গের সৌন্দর্য সত্যিই অনন্য। যা ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা যায় না।একবার ঘুরে দেখে আসুন দেখবেন এই অনুভুতির রেশ দীর্ঘস্থায়ী হবে।
